Re: How many miles?

Mine now has 4200 miles since the completion of it’s restoration last summer. It had no speedometer when I bought it, so I have no idea about the total mileage

Re: Where is the water going?

I made a “sight glass” out of clear tubing. It’s connected to the drain valve and runs along the side of the radiator shell. The water level stabilized about an inch and a half above the radiator...

Re: Max Speed of a Model A in Stock Form

I agree totally with Springerpete: Think about a panic stop at that sort of speed.

Re: My FIRST Phone call to Burt's in Colorado

I think they’re closed Mondays, so Tuesday wouldn’t be a good day to call since they’re pretty busy. Email usually works well. I’ve always been very satisfied with their service, help, advice and...

Tune ups

How often (in miles) do you guys perform routine tune ups? And what all are you checking and adjusting? This being my first Model A, I sometimes feel there’s a need to be constantly tweaking on...

Re: Starter fuse Question ??

It doesn’t protect the starter. Originally, Model A’s had no fuses. The “starter” fuse you’re talking about should be a 30 Amp fuse protecting the rest of the car.

Re: Anti Squeak Tape

I used the same anti squeak from Mikes shown in Casey’s post. It’s been in there almost a year, no problems with it.

Re: Birthday present

A few thoughts and comments:

Why did I drive my Model A to a big box store in the middle of winter?
It was a beautiful North Georgia day. There’s nothing that keeps me from doing that,...

Birthday present

I went to our local big box store in my Model A this afternoon, parked in the middle of nowhere and came out to find somebody rearranged my right front fender. No note, no nothing.

Re: Manual wiper

Gary, I bought it from Mikes. Part # A17655AR in their catalog. Keep in mind, it isn’t correct for a closed car. I put it in a ‘29 Tudor. I don’t plan to purposely drive in the rain, but if it...

Re: Manual wiper

I’m not sure if the bracket is available from any vendor. I made my own bracket and tube and also extended the wiper shaft. It isn’t correct to the car but it works very well.

Re: Manual wiper

Thanks Bob and Rocket. I extended the shaft on the wiper and made the bracket and tube today. It still needs a little fine tuning and paint before I put it in. Thanks again for the help.

Manual wiper

I bought a manual hand operated windshield wiper thinking it would be easy to make it work and fit well on my ‘29 Tudor. Obviously I was wrong. Anybody with any helpful ideas? Thanks in advance.

Re: Is there a way to determine the original color?

From the little I know, the serial number is a sequential number only. No information can be decoded from it other than the date the engine was tested and accepted.

Re: LED Headlights

I put Logo LEDs in my headlights about a year ago, 12v neg ground. I had a problem with the low beams flickering. I returned them to Logo (Creative Connections) since they were under warranty. ...

I painted my hood disassembled and put in new stainless rods when I put it together. No chipping anywhere.

Re: Replacement Running Board Bolt Bracket

You might try looking on “for sale” or posting on “wanted”. I bought 4 reproduction ones about a year ago. They fit perfectly

Re: Remove window trim?

I don’t know about a Town Sedan, but my ‘29 Tudor had 2 screws under the upholstery (yellow circle). Other than that, it kind of stubbornly snaps in place. As Mike said in post #2, it may need...
