All systems are either filtered or have some type of separator/splash shield (this system's filter is actually a separator) otherwise the crankcase fumes/oil mist would be drawn into the combustion...

That's what I needed to see...

The nipple has to be located within the filter media when the canister is installed on the tube. Otherwise, the draft will be drawing directly from the crankcase...

It was not exactly factory or OEM but was a retrofit system deemed necessary in the SOCIALIST REPUBLIC of CALIFORNIA. FORD offered a kit as an accessory and there must have been aftermarket kits...

Now is the intake nipple attached to the cover pointing/drawing towards the inside of the filter element or the outside?

Were there any ID markings on the PCV valve...

This is a complex issue. Mostly it is being blamed on cylinder liners and piston rings as most having had the TSB performed on the truck saw little or no relief on oil consumption.

Dave,

If a 2019 and an eight, it should be the 5.0L COYOTE which FORD has had a lot of trouble with. This is not like diagnosing an older engine. One has to know the exact engine and production...

I too have been around cars and heavy truck since 1967, so I have a pretty good grasp on the situation. I assure you I fully understand ABS and have the needed diagnostic tools for it.
