Re: coil resitor bypass

I have a Alternator and the digital meter under the dash is about 7V.
But I think I will run some leads to the coil so can monitor the coil voltage while driving.
that should answer that question....

Re: coil resitor bypass

All good ideas and solutions but I'm still confused why the problem went away after shorting the resistor out for only 3-4 seconds . It couldn't have cooled off that fast and then it would have...

Re: coil resitor bypass

Not a bad idea but why would it 'recover' after a few seconds hotter coil voltage?
It's actually a fairly new capacitor (less than 100 miles) but I have had them go bad quickly. Probably wouldn't...

Re: 40 PU trans cover

Thanks guys. So the way I have the plate right now is normal? Just add the rubber filler? Was there a rubber shift boot on the originals? I can't find any pictures that show this area.
I was also...

Re: Early V8 Oil Filter Return

Here is a picture of a 'Kit' I found if that helps anybody picture what I am looking for.
I don't need the kit just the hose and bolt.

Re: Temperture sending units

Thank you. Since I am thinking of adding a gauge set, do you know of any 6 Volt gauges (to monitor charging) in the same style? All I can find are 8-18 v models.

Early V8 Oil Filter Return

I am looking for the Banjo connection and hollow bolt used on early V8 (1940) for the oil return line from the filter. Either for the fuel pump or valve cover instillation.

Re: sending unit 40 ford instructions

The resistance of the sending unit is different than what the 6V gauge wants. I put a 33 ohm resistor in parallel with the sender. while not 100% accurate in gets you in the ballpark.
