Re: Annual MONSTER Swap Portland, Or

I have NOT been a vendor in the last two years. Marginal sales overall (this is a business decision overall) has been the trend for several years. Committing to essentially all day Sunday for...

Re: early Ford V8 flathead motor catalytic converter?

At the risk of topic shift...

There is of course way more to the story about replacing street cars than simple chicanery of GM and Firestone.

The Pacific Electric streetcars system was...

Re: Grey hound hood ordament

1. Yes they are different. Assuming you are talking passenger car. Both clamp to the top of the ornament and, of course, ornaments are different. Pickup would use the same 1934-1936 (on the radiator...

Re: early Ford V8 flathead motor catalytic converter?

The catalytic converter works by enabling hydrocarbons to burn at a dramatically lower mixture (air + fuel) than what they would normally burn at. They are often some alloy of platinum in a ceramic...

Re: 1934 Closed Car Window Crank Handle

At this point, there is one primary vendor... Vintique. They pretty much supply every parts store. For those who like to badmouth Vintique at every opportunity these handles happen to be one of their...

Re: 1939 truck windshield frame screws?

Ford 350152-S is the join screw, This is a special screw that has a slightly larger head and shallower countersink than common 82 degree 10-32 oval head. I remembered there was something special...

Re: Annual MONSTER Swap Portland, Or

I was there this morning. Lots of stuff, not much early V8... but some. Not much good... but some. A pair of NOS 1942-46 front fenders (1250.00), a pair of "decent" 1940 passenger fronts (300.00),...

Knobs?

With the recent angst of some knobs not being available (and my selling the only 1937-41 cowl vent knob in my stock) I decided to 3D model it and 3D print a sample as a backup for the hobby/industry....

Re: 34 pickup grill lacing

On my (fiberglass) roadster I originally used the replacement for original style, knowing the shape change issues (stretching in length, shrinking in girth) I made the lengths about 3" short. Then...

Question about Grille 1940 Standard / 1940-41 Pickup

I have the remnants of two grilles. What is interesting is that the center horizontal spacer "bar" ("support") is of distinctly different construction between the two grilles. One grille has a...

Re: More 32 identification help please

My understanding is the 5W door latch/link/handle mount assembly differed from the Tudor/Victoria/B400 only in the length of the link.

Re: Narrow bed or wide bed

The 1930-31 Pickup/Truck share the same door with the Tudor sedan (Except for the incredibly rare truck doors with a dimple to clear a side spare tire). The 1930-31 Coupe door is about 1-1/2" shorter...

Re: 40-41 pickup bed

"VERY NICE" bed wood is available from Brad Brown (when he is off sabbatical), you pay for quality. Mack Products has bed to frame wood that is "simplified" from the original, and less expensive.

Re: '37 Body mounts / Door alignment

Three (at least) possibilities here:
1. Frame/body alignment. If the frame is sagging, humped, or twisted it needs to be fixed first, or you may be able to shim out of the problem.
2. Door hinge...

Re: 32 Duolamps

The rim with countersunk holes and the convex lens is what I have seen on 1935-36 pickups, and with research believe was used 1933-41+ pickup and 1933-40 station wagons. This is the style of rim and...

Re: 1932 Ford Subrail Frame Extensions

Just build your floor to support the back panel and corners of the body. Given you are channeling the body IF you had originals or accurate reproductions you would be cutting them up anyway.
