Re: Groaning Brakes

On my '30 Tudor, they only seem to groan when I brake on a slope in reverse. Like backing out of the garage which has a downhill slope.
Luckily I have no strange sound while braking going forward.

Re: Sound deadening? Anyone done it?

My original floorboard edge wrap is very deteriorated. I've got new wrap ordered along with new screws because most of mine were missing. I currently have so many noises going on, I'm anxious to...

Re: Sound deadening? Anyone done it?

Very well done! That's exactly what I plan for the interior panels. For the floor, I bought the OEM style heavy floor mats, & will add the heat deflect wrap over the Noico on the bottom side of the...

Re: Sound deadening? Anyone done it?

After some research, Noico reviews & cost won me over.

Smile Re: Sound deadening? Anyone done it?

Thanks Steve, mine is a Tudor. The product I've ordered is Noico 80 mil in black.
I'm planning to cover the bottom of the floorboards & then proceed to the interior panels if I like the way works....

Sound deadening? Anyone done it?

Ok, I've got a '30 Sedan. All original. 50's looks like "brush" exterior paint job..
I'm in the process of removing interior metal bits for repaint. The car currently has no interior panels.
I've...

Re: Need to purchase an outside rear view mirror for a 29 Tudor

I got it from the vendor that people here don't seem to like much, lol.
It's probably the exact one that all common Model A vendors sell if I had to guess.

Re: Need to purchase an outside rear view mirror for a 29 Tudor

I purchased one like this in post #1 for my '30 Sedan. It does not have vibration.
The bolt/nut replaces the hinge pin and secures tightly.

Re: first time looking at a 30 Model A

Google search will show many, prices vary on condition of course but it'll give you an idea on prices.
The for sale section here has a few cars but the HAMB classified has more cars for sale, that's...

Re: OT: "An Alternator is a Battery Maintainer, -NOT a Battery Charger."

Thanks for that info. My lights indeed dim as I'm stopping the car to open the garage doors, also noticed it while pulling in the garage in the dark.
I thought I may have grounding issues to chase...

Re: OT: "An Alternator is a Battery Maintainer, -NOT a Battery Charger."

So it's safe to say a generator will keep a new battery equally charged as a car with an alternator?

Re: A ride to the general store - 31 Town Sedan drone video

Very well done! That shiney paint makes me realize how un-shiney mine is.

All lights on 1 switch question

Ok guys, don't flame me but my '30 Sedan had all lights, headlights-cowl-tail on a toggle switch when I purchased it.
I've since refurbished the cowl sockets, ran new crossover wire, got everything...

Re: headlight bar patch

I've got the bar off my '30 Sedan currently.
I just went and looked, the deeper side of the depression is clearly tilted towards the rear of the car if that's what you're asking.

Thank you. After an extensive search, I just received a pair from a gracious member. They must be the last 2 that aren't floating in a container ship anchored somewhere between here and china lol.

Re: To rebuild or not to rebuild - that is the question.

Yes. For 2 reasons. So you will save yourself possible hassles now, and possibly in the future to a prospective buyer should you ever decide to sell.

Re: To rebuild or not to rebuild - that is the question.

Sounds like you have a good plan.
Even if restoring the A's isn't a profitable venture, it'd be a shame if the remaining unrestored or at least made driver cars rotted away.
I've got a '30 Tudor...

Re: Radiator hose diameters

I've got hoses on order currently. I got the black/red stripe because they said "American made", plus they look better than the Orange hoses IMO.
I hope I don't get junk like described here..

Re: Headlight, cowl light, radiator shell Stainless Restoration?

Brent, thank you! That's the answer I was searching for, the ability to use 4-5k grit paper prior to polishing without damage.
On off-topic extremely expensive mirror polished aluminum wheels/parts,...
