You should be around 450-550 to adjust the carb. If you are a good bit over that you may have the throttle butterflies too open and by passing the idle circuit.

Well, I found one already, guy says its original but it sure looks in good shape for that. He wants 12500 for it. I am thinking about go to look at it tomorrow but I have no idea what I am dealing...

Supposedly been completely restored a year or so ago. It runs real well. It is a friend that I have bought from before. I will get more specifics and post. He's asking 10000.

What's your voltage at the coil while running? Check your resistor and check all your engine grounds. Had bad connections on mine that drove me nutz till I figured it out.

I wish I had never sold my 86 f150. I bought it new with the I6 long bed manual 4 speed w OD and air. It was a great truck. Sold it to a friend in 2001 but haven't seen it in years.
