That "circulator" appears to be one of the most common designs - Blackhawk was a common model. No new impeller castings are available that I know of but I have a number of those & some pieces - need...

Are you supporting the main shaft from underneath ? I use an extra driven gear - ithe teeth fit perfect between the 2 dowels. Yes, that gap is critical for expansion.

No - the square head bolt of the spring pack just locates the spring in the center - it's not or shouldn't be bolted.

Most likely scenario was #1 went south in the past & was replaced with a modern rod. Hopefully you "indexed" each cap to each rod - re-install the same way you removed them.

Recommended pressure for clincher tires are 65 lbs. for 30 x 3 (24") & 60 lbs. for 30 x 3.5 (23").

No worries - 13-39 gears mostly used in the flatlands & higher h.p. engines.

Not necessarily - the gears could be 13-39 for a 3-1 gear set. A 40 could use either 11 or a 12 tooth pinion.

The numbers on the patent plate is the serial number.

This is off a Model T but illustrates the effects of "pump" gas - I removed this from the tank, set on the bench and within minutes it had this white residue appear - simple swipe with my finger...
