Re: What gears in a stock '48 F1 with 9" rearend?

Re: bulletproofing a columbia

Using the information in the link I posted above, I bullet proof my own Columbias...The last one I did, a 1936 version, I purchased one of John's billet A-24 assemblies, and it is a beautiful thing....

Re: replace '33 fuel sender with electric sender.

With your original sender, the fuel line comes out of the tank as part of the sender. From 36, when the senders went electric, the fuel line comes outta the front of the tank; it is completely remote...

Re: Canadian Flathead?

38 coupe, it'll have the large dia mains, because it's got the long crank snout. All 24 stud engines with the long crank snout run the large journal cranks. If you find a 24 stud engine with short...

Re: Brake cross shaft assembly

Ideally you want absolutely none. If you detect movement in yours, get it rebuilt. All slop/slack in a mechanical brake system adds up to lotsa lost motion.

Re: '35 sending unit in a '36 gas tank

And if all else fails, what has to be done to use all '36 sending units and dash gauges in the '35?

Easiest way is to fit an entire 36 tank...the fuel line on a 36 comes out of the tank at...

Re: Today’s photos, huge windstorm in Monterey Peninsula

Beauty is indeed in the eye of the beholder....I believe accessories can either detract from or enhance the aesthetics of an automobile. What some find tasty, others find horrendous. This example...

Re: 1936 ford series 68-radio antenna-please help!

Isn't another option to insulate the spare wheel and cover from the body and use that as an antenna? That location is higher off of the ground than under the running board, which must aid in the...

Re: To use in hose thermostats or not? 1935 85 V8

Re: To use in hose thermostats or not? 1935 85 V8

Scub, I think you'll find that fitting Skips valve will prevent coolant returning back into radiator....

Re: To use in hose thermostats or not? 1935 85 V8

There a several different design radiators available for 35 Fords. At least one design places the top of the overflow tube directly under the filler cap. Problem then is, at high[er] engine speeds,...
