Sometimes they punch up and out with no problem. "Sometimes"... I had to drill down from the top a ways and then punch and hammer from the bottom. Tape pieces of cardboard in all the areas...

The gaskets seal fine and have been doing so for over 90 years. O-ring machining probably not worth the cost. IMO... Chap

Permatex Thread Sealer part #80632 Available on Amazon in both the 4oz jar and 6ml tube.
This is a Teflon product that I have found seals well and does not harden. . . Chap
