Great ideas! thanks for the help. I sealed up the bolts since I don't have the right length studs, but the first time I have to remove the headers ill use studs to replace the bolts. (3/8 and 7/16...

I did not bench bleed the master cylinder but when the brake fluid gets down about 1/2" from cap it stops leaking like "oldscouts" Pontiac, but I've never had this problem before so I'm going to...

Question early ford juice brakes

Someone prior to my ownership put 40 brakes on my 33 coupe, the problem is after installing a new master cylinder and bleeding the system, fluid leaks from the vent hole in the cap (squirts from it)...

positive ground coil + vs -

on a 6V positive ground system do you attach the hot lead (negative battery) to the + or - side of the coil and why?

The back rest is correct, its hitting the tin part where the tin screws to the triangular wooden gusset at each end of the wood strip. If it would help maybe I could post a photo.

Thanks for your help, do you know if the backrest fits tight against the wood strip where the tabs slip over? My seat backrest hits the vac cylinder covers on each side before it reaches the wood...

1940 convertible top bow adjustment

Is there a system for pre-adjusting the top bows on a 40' convert to get the proper clearance around the windows before the fabric is installed? My 40' is the late style with adjustment screws on...

Does anyone have photos of the vacuum lines and how they are routed from front to rear in a 1940 ford convertible for the two vacuum cylinders that operate the top? Thanks for the help.

looks like the 26/31 windshield seal will work good, it fits a bit tight but the round bead looks good and makes a nice seal.

I did purchase a vent wing kit from Drake but the seal that was in the kit was about half as long as it needs to be if it is to wrap around as you indicate. I did find some material that might work...

On the 40 convert there is a rubber seal strip that seals the wing window frame to the door where the frame passes through the door slot. Does the seal wrap around the wing window to seal the outside...

I have tried 3 times with a new ferrule and new lines with the same results. I looked in the tank bung with a scope and it looks like the suction line in the tank might be removable for replacement...
