7.5 amps is O.K. - back in the day, it was normal to be set at 10-12 amps !

Mixture sounds as though you're a bit on the lean side - open C.C.W. a smidge then check it again - after engine is at...

You'll get way more information on T's at the MTFCA Forum - your 3rd brush insulator is most likely shorted out.
