Re: Interior Question

Go to a auto trim shop and ask for 'panel board'. It is about 1/8 " thick and can be sewn to.

Re: 1953 Mercury Paint Source

Take it to a automotive paint supplier that has a camera matching system. The can match the color and mix up a pint of paint for you.

Re: Rod Caps - Advice Needed

I would say that as long as you don't hear the rods making noise or are not experiencing any problems, leave the rods alone. The rods have been put in that position for a reason at some time in the...

Re: Leg Room Question

I can't answer for touring cars, but the front seat in a Coupe or possibly even a tudor sedan can be moved back for more leg room. You would have to shorten the package shelf in the coupe, but in the...

Re: adding electric fuel pump

I had the same idea about an electric pump. Due to lung damage from Covid, I cannot get under. Instead I give the carburetor a shot of ether after sitting a while and the car starts right up and...

Re: Spindle bolt replacement question

I can do your spindles for $140 or I can supply the spindles for an additional $30. If you send your spindles, they must be clean.

Re: Spindle bolt replacement question

The king pin bolts are .500. The bushings need to be reamed to .504. I rebuild spindles as a side line and can do yours for $140 plus shipping. PM me and I can give you the details. The price...

Re: Spindle bolt replacement question

Oil is better than grease. The tolerance between the king pin and the bushing is only a few thousands. It takes much longer for the grease to travel down the king pin and you risk scoring the...

The easiest thing to do is remove all filters. If doing this solves your problem, your are done.

Re: Model T electric fuel pump.

Since the fuel is gravity feed, you shouldn't be starving for fuel unless there is a blockage somewhere. Are you using a fuel filter? If you are, that is the problem. gravity feed does not do well...

Re: switch

You can bleed the brakes if you wish. You should not have to if you replace the switch quickly.

Re: Automatic Centrifugal Timing Device

I tried the automatic spark advance. Had trouble with the gimbal working properly. Send it back to New Rex for a replacement, second one had the same problem. I find that pretending it's not there...

Re: My 1926 Tudor needs a little more gumption...

Before you go to the expense and work of a ruxtel, warford, scat crank, cam, just try installing a high compression head. Least amount of work and truly the best bang for the buck. The Z head is...
