Re: Year model - packard
I just asked a local friend who is a noted Packard restorer and expert. His answer, "1939 V12 Brunn Landaulet." He also reports, "very expensive, with production around 20."

Re: need to sell
I am an avid "BaT" follower and it is a great venue for some cars. I suspect it probably would not be for this one for a couple reasons. First, you have to "apply" to have your car listed on BaT...

Re: ‘39 Merc All Terrain Vehicle???
Somehow, I'm reminded of the classic scene from "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World" featuring Phil Silvers and a 1948 Ford Convertible. :-) See attached at 0:28 and again around 1:21. ...

Re: help for a friend
A 1982 Durango isn’t a Dodge. It’s a Ford. Sort of the successor to the Ranchero, based on a Fairmont platform. I’ll admit to having to Google it, because I don’t remember them at all.

Re: Lowering rear on 32 roadster
I think what he is saying is he wants to increase the tire size, which will only exacerbate the height issue, so he wants to know what to do to the suspension to bring it down.

Re: Rebuilding my steering box
Regarding the alternative approach suggested, I have a spare completely rebuilt 41-48 car box. (Purchased it before I realized the shaft was too short for my Mercury, so just rebuilt mine instead) ...

Re: 40 Heater Motor
Philip-
As of a year ago, a gentleman by the name of Rick Bocchi rebuilds them. He goes by "flathead48" on the forum. I have been meaning to have him do mine, but I just haven't got around to...

Re: Fuel boiling at fuel pump
JT-
Here in NW Illinois non-ethanol is pretty readily available. On most pumps, the 87 and 89 will say "10% ethanol added" and the highest octane (91 or 93) will either say "no alcohol added"...

I'm kind of like that; I belong to a number of forums with different subjects (EF V8s, MGs, RVs, RC planes, garden tractors). As my activity level in each waxes and wanes, so does my corresponding...

Good to hear these reports, because I think I'm going to pull the trigger on some Coker radials in the next few weeks.

Re: 35 Ford steering box
Mudflap,
If you have any interest in using a 41-48 box, I have one that is freshly rebuilt, never used. I bought it from someone not realizing Mercurys have a longer shaft. Ended up just having...
