Re: Pre load

As Tom says and he and I have done hundreds of rear axles it is very important you get this right. If the pinion isn’t right my guess is the carrier bearings and preload may also be in question. ...

Re: REQUEST ADVICE: Changing Timing gear.

My suggestion would be to put a little white paint on the dots. Either “white out” or a toothpick dab of white or yellow on them. Sometimes it’s hard to see the crank gear mark. Remember it’s to the...

Re: growling noise

Bob,
Driveline noise can be a little tricky at times….
But it sounds like your trans throwout is probably ok. They are noisy when clutch depressed. Not out.

There’s a host of possibilities but...

Re: Painting a hood

I usually paint them separate but have also done a few together. You get the best job separate and if you need to color sand and buff it’s easier as well. Sometimes a little dressing of the hinges...

Re: Brake springs

The brake springs do make a difference in the return of the shoes and brake pedal return.
Snyder’s springs used to be the best but they recently changed their springs as there were complaints they...

Re: Problem adjusting one of the front brakes

Jim
I’ll first start off by saying brakes are one of my staples and specialties. If your brakes won’t adjust it could be several things. From your post it sounds like the wedge is moving in... am I...
