Re: Excessive right front tire wear?
I was also wearing out only one front tire. It turns out the camber was out due to the axle being bent at some time. I took it to an "old time" alignment shop and they were able to bend the axle to...

Re: Model A car names
Way back in 1970, my father named the coupe Betsy. When I bought the car 7 years ago I just couldn't change her name - Betsy it is!! :)

Need gears for '62 3spd
I'm helping a buddy fix his '62 Comet. 6cyl, 3 on the tree and somehow he knocked the teeth off of what looks like 2nd gear. Does anyone have a source for parts for these trannies?
Thanks
Greg

Re: tillotson float level
Mr Texas has a great website for Tilly's. I have my float set about 1 1/8+ due to the ethanol fuel boiling, it might help a little but doesn't cure it.

Not sure what year tank your looking at but here is a thread for 30-31. The 28-29 only have 10 gal and that 30-31 have 11 gal tanks.

I don't know if they are created equal or not, but I have been using the NAPA brand rust inhibitor without any problems in straight water.

I have two of these carbs and can't seem to get them to idle. They run stronger than my Tilley's but still working on the idle. I have found that Renners carries some of the parts to rebuild. If...

Re: Cracked rear motor mount
Mine was cracked like that and I had a buddy tig it for me. Grind a V into the crack and weld it up. It will be stronger than original if done correctly.

Re: Cutout sticking
Thanks for all of the replies! I would like to keep the original cutout and will try to get it working correctly. I'm not opposed to running a diode cutout but sure hate to cut up an original part....
