Re: advice on a steering wheel to look correct on 50's low boy rod

Steering wheels are such an important part of the cars interior vibe...very important for it to be in theme with the entire era/build.
Let's see some pics of the car, along with its interior.

Re: Does this sound like a good flathead build?

hogluvr very well stated.
Doing your "due diligence" is/always will be the smart thing to do, especially in this day and age.
Good luck with your Flathead pursuit.

Re: How do you walk into NAPA to buy 40 Ford Parts?

Delco-Remy starters basically use the same "body" for the SBC's..allowing the rebuilders to install the interchangeable "nose cones" on various bodies..therefore "numbers on the body" would'nt help...

Re: '40 and '41 Pickup

The '41 has the wide "waterfall" hood emblem, along with two wide trim pieces on either side.
The '41 uses the Ford plate emblem on the rear of the hood near the cowl, and also on the dashboard...

Re: mice prevention?

Food in the garage/shop is NOT a requirement for mice to be present..they eat items we would never consider food.

Re: PNW Flathead Rebuilders

I had my 8ba rebuilt by Cope Bros. in Parkland (Tacoma) 253-531-1776 with good results.
Over the years I've had them do a few SBC's, and a BBC also, all with good results.
Call Darrel he's straight...

Re: Car at auction

Price is down on these cars.
I don't have a crystal ball either..but I do have common sense.
