I run the Powermaster 6V alternator, and just like Dick M. said, it's not a problem. I just don't know why the Powermaster instructions state that you shouldn't run the alternator through the amp...

If the ball isn't worn too bad, I would use some steel washers and take a ball pein
hammer to shape them. Or if the ball is just too far gone, welding in a replacement
will do it for a very long...

Go to a hardware store or lawnmower shop and buy the in line
filter for a 8 to 16 hp motor. They are small, but will allow gas to drop down
to the carb. I have run one on mine for 12 years. ...

Background info is: 6 volt generator with a New Rex diode
cut out. Battery is 3 years old seems good.... 3rd brush
all the way up, (lowest charging possible). Grounds are clean.
