Re: '34 Truck comes to live with it's brother.

I don't want to get kicked off of this forum.... But whatever was done - wasn't done by me so it's not my fault.

And if you mean those last two beauties, I'm kicking myself for not taking more...

Re: 6 volt positive ground SW gauges

I don't think gages care about polarity, and they probably don't care about being on 6V either since they just compare resistance between the internal resistor and the external one in the sender...

Here is a Searle brain valve in the rod to the pedal I saw this weekend at the truck show. It...

Re: '34 Truck comes to live with it's brother.

This was one of my favorite trucks there. I wish I had taken more pictures of it.

It has a Brownie in it like I want to do to mine.

Re: '34 Truck comes to live with it's brother.

My dad (Captain John D. Baker) passed away exactly 1 year ago today. He was born in 1933 and that's why he like this 33BB.
So, taking these two to the truck show was a good way to honor him and...

Re: '34 Truck comes to live with it's brother.

Great info - Thanks.

I also like the hubcaps and the big 5 lug pattern on the 34's.

Re: '34 Truck comes to live with it's brother.

I like that full floater too but I've been super impressed with the the size of the roller bearings on the '33 semi floater - it's not wimpy.

Re: '34 Truck comes to live with it's brother.

It's possible that I may have upset a few Prius, Telsa, Porsch etc drivers on the way back over the mountain but I pulled over whenever possible. I wasn't going to die just to keep the speed up. I...

Re: '34 Truck comes to live with it's brother.

Where did you find load limits for the BB?

I figure I was about 6,000 for the truck and just shy of 10K for the trailer and load.

Re: '34 Truck comes to live with it's brother.

I was told the truck was CW Moss's truck. The truck is mostly stock except the unmentionable engine which has the numbers 327 in its name.
And the best part is it also has 5.14 gears like the '33...

3 speed auxiliary TT transmission work on BB?

Anybody know if the spline count and axle flange is the same on a 33 BB as the TT truck?
I found this Lincoln 3 speed auxiliary that bolts to the axle where the drive tube bolts:

Re: 1933 Ford BB truck

"Malcolm Lockheed sold his brake company to Bendix in 1932 for $1,000,000"

That's $22M. in todays dollars. He had 26 years left in his life and lost it all. I wonder if he spent it all at his...

Re: 1933 Ford BB truck

I just ordered 15 feet of .54 friction coefficient woven lining and rivets 2 1/2" x 1/4"

This was the highest friction coefficient that I could find.

Re: 1933 Ford BB truck

I didn't see anything wrong other than broken brake springs which I replaced.

Drums are smooth and clean and within .015" larger than 14 inches so they are in great shape.

I definitely broke...
