Re: Name that sound 32 B motor...

You might get lucky as I did! I thought I'd destroyed my engine but it turned out the dipper tray had sprung free and was catching the crank. Admittedly I'd had the pan off for an oil change and...

Re: 36 5 window door glass

I have endured your pain! The metal channels are only as long as they just need to be thanks to Henrys manufacturing economy and therefore their placement on the glass is critical, else the wheels on...

Re: New 36 Ford Owner!

A not stainless steel one? Sorry, I have no idea!

My stainless one probably came from Bob Drakes, I can't recall. I thought I was doing a good thing doing that. If I were to do it again I guess...

Re: New 36 Ford Owner!

My experience of the '36 bumpers in Stainless isn't good. Love the idea, no rust (theoretically, and practically in my case), polish scratches out etc but they have no spring or resistance to them. I...

Re: Installing Dash Board in '32 3w Coupe

May I butt in with a related question? Thanks! :)

I have a Brookville 3w coupe in progress and the notched refered to are made so deep into the screen reveal that any water that makes its way past...

Re: What kind of parts are these??

The pic on the right is certainly rear package tray supports - but they're not welded in, they simply bolt to the uprights - or maybe there's a wooden upright in there somewhere, in which case...

Re: '32 roadster body shimming

I've got almost exactly the same setup in the works, except i've not got an original shell, but a Vintique one.

Mine's not painted as yet (might never happen) but it's gone together quite nicely...

Re: What is you take on this rebodied 1935 Ford??

Using anything less that the whole sheet just creates expensive waste material.

Re: What is the correct way to measure engine compression?

That's a leakdown test.

To be honest i can't immediately think what the difference is between that and a compression test, other that the procedures are different. They essentially seem to test...

Re: Brake bleeding problem

Why not just bleed conventionally?

I don't know anything about these vac thingies but i suspect they'll do a great job of sucking air in around the bleeder threads and out through the bleeder,...

Re: 36 5-window rear window seal

I guess it was a cost thing but on the odd occassion the drivers side only drain can be a problem.

I've kinda sideways parked on a steep hill with the passenger side heavily raised and it's then...

Re: Hinge Pin Removal Tool ?

Maybe i've just been really lucky, but i haven't done that many. Got the C clamp tool but agree, they're pretty ineffectual.

My sucesses have been to center punch the pin (not excessively) and...

Re: Pertronix (or similar?) for Model B ?????

Thanks for the varied responses guys.

Soon after posting i'd located the fs ignitions site which pretty much answered all my questions :o, but worthwhile canvassing different views nonetheless! ...

Pertronix (or similar?) for Model B ?????

I followed the 'differences between a Model A and B' recently which took me to some useful places I've not been before or for a while. One of them was fordgarge.com.

Within there is a howto on...

Re: 1936 wind out screen fasteners question

Thanks for the responses guys.

To be honest i'd never even considered that mine were anything but as factory. If they are repaired / modified somebody did a very neat job indeed.

I'll look...

1936 wind out screen fasteners question

I've got a '36 5 w coupe that i bought as an unfinished hot rod project some years ago.

When partially dismantling the screen wind out mechanism (can't recall why but i think the fixings to the...

Re: '32 Roadster door dovetails

btt because i'd like to know this too :o.

Although miles from being original i thought i might try nutserts. I'm thinking the thickness of the body of the male dovetail may be sufficient to ride...

Re: 36 5 window door glass install help

I'll reiterate the importance of having the bottom channel properly positioned on the glass, fore / aft - there's not much spare channel, so get it wrong and the rollers come off at the end of the...
