Doing as we speak. Should have finished ,on road tomorrow afternoon. Have to adlust steering a tad also, center of wheel stays a bit left of center. Not alot but it can be corrected. Should go down...

Thank you,I thought so. BUT, I cant turn tie rod. These parts are all 7-8 years old on a car that has been under resto,in other words new parts. JUST got on road! Checked toe in,about 1/2 in shy....

Toe in adjusted by turning tie rod in or out? There are no sleeves on this so just turn tie rod

Tailgate latches 46 wagon

Latches on tailgate are pretty worn,tailgate not shutting tightly. Anyone ever try building these up with weld?? Other options? Thanks

Oil bath air cleaners 46-48 fords,bumper jack for same

Did the oil bath air cleaners also have a mesh filter around lid or was that just open?? Also been looking for a bumper jack for my wagon. Is that same as other models for those years? Any leads on...

Speedo,NOT cable needs repaired on my 46. Havent taken out of dash yet,are these repairable? No movement in needle at all. Thanks

Koates, ignition is original. Had to troubleshoot ignition to find that I had bad resistor. Much easier to lift hood and put meter on coil vs crawling under dash messing with resistor. By looking at...

Thanks for that info. Ive taken dist,wires and everything out. Dist looked fine,.014 point setting, no pitting or burning on pts. Ive put back on with wires outa conduit. Still etarts great,will...

THANK YOU FOR THE FEEDBACK. Put 2 rebuilt carbs on by Charle from NY,also fuelpump from Charlie.
I initially thought it was a fuel problem but its not getting ignited in cylinders "black sooty"...

I may have mentioned this engine starts in a second! Idles ok but runs very rough under load. Do I even suspect bad points,not that old and less than 10mi on them. Reluctant to pull distributor .

Resistor is less than 1 ohm on here. Sure thats not my problem but why have such a low value resistor in system?

6.2 volts steady at coil input.what is resistor ohms supposed to read. 6.2 is bat voltage,shouldnt be that at coil with resistor.

How many ohms should the resistor before the coil be reading and how many volts TO the coil after the resistor should I be getting. Thinking possibly bad resistor. Thanks

Changed coil AND condenser and still runs horrible. All plugs black sooty deposit. Idles ok but no power. Misses on all cylinders.
Any ideas why im not firing ,dist rebuilt by Bubba so Im sure thats...

Thanks,Ill drive over to NAPA. Only thing that baffles me is this starts good hot or cold. Plugs are touled black and sooty after short drive. New carb rebuild and dist rebuilt by Bubba. Soon...

Ford V8 stock, runs rough,misses and stalls out. Checked coil, High tension wire to block has bright yellow spark (blue where spark touches block). Voltage at ign is 6.2V, primary side of coil .8ohms...
