Re: Informal poll - 1948-52 F-1 Front Disc Kit
The early style K/H calipers will work OK, but modern aluminum 4-piston designs would be a better choice, imo.
I agree with not going any smaller than a 1" master, but simply using a disc/drum...

Re: Walker Radiator
I bought my first Custom Auto Radiator for my '32 after the Rodder's Journal article featuring you and three of your cars, all with C.A.R.'s. I was looking at Walker, but they would not work with me...

Re: '40 Trunk seal 91A-7243720
I've had the one-piece Bob Drake trunk seal in place on my '40 coupe for several years during construction and like the fit and quality. I started final assembly last March when all the painted body...

I used Bob Drake wing vent rubber and lever kits along with D.C. window channel kits on my present '40 coupe build with no issues. The Bob Drake parts were bought many years ago, while the D.C....

Re: Holley 4150 carburetor development history
The 4150 4-barrel came out in '57. I thought I read many years ago that one of the Edelbrock techs came up with the "modular" idea that also was applied to the 2 barrel 2300 series. The 4150 has...

Re: Edmunds manifold, Twin Stromberg 97 carbs
Now that I clearly see the manifold, it has the overall design and carb placement like most regular 8BA duals. The picture of Tubman's is the odd one I described in my previous post.

Re: 8BA Style Timing Cover Queries
The cast iron narrow belt stepped pulley used on '50-'53 Ford/Merc cars measures about 6 1/16" in diameter and uses the lower pointer location. Trucks and '49 Ford/Merc cars used a sheet metal wide...

Re: clutchplate just fits the flywheel, or not ??
I ran into a similar clearance issue with my new steel flywheel and aftermarket clutch. I was reluctant on grinding down flywheel bolts, so contacted ARP and bought bolts that have a reduced head...

Re: Edmunds manifold, Twin Stromberg 97 carbs
The first regular dual I ran on my '51 was an Edmunds like the one pictured above. The can ran OK, but the carb placement and spacing just looked odd imo, and like no other regular 8BA I've ever...

Re: '40 Garnish screws
Thanks rockfla,
I'm not familiar with the description "type A tapping screw" so is that just a regular pointed sheet metal screw? I don't want to damage or enlarge the holes already in the body.

Re: is it ok to run diluted antifreeze?
I run a summer mix 50/50 of glycol antifreeze to help keep the system clean and rust free, along with a 12-14 degree rise in the coolant boiling point, something that has not been addressed yet.

Re: 1949 Ford State Police car
The '57 regular production Lincoln/Merc 368" had 290 HP but Bill Stroppe's hand built 335 HP racing option could have been used by police.
