Re: vacuum wipers

Check the vacuum line going into the wiper vacuum "motor". Should have vacuum at idle and increase with throttle. Could be the line is old and not sealing or has fell off the inlet. The knob should...

Re: Cut off HAMB again????

It sounds like your issue is you were storing your HAMB credentials in your old browser. When you upgraded to a new browser those stored credentials went away. You can't do a password reset since...

Re: Cut off HAMB again????

That doesn't seem right. Website compatibility with old browsers can be an issue, but a new browser would be pretty unusual. What is the actual point that it fails? The site won't load at all on the...

Yes, he sent me one as well. Scammer for sure. Anytime someone with zero posts replies to a wanted ad you should be suspicious. Also notice below he did not mention the part in the reply and he wants...

'53 Ford Customline rear quarter panel trim

I'm looking for the rear quarter panel trim for a '53 Customline. These are the pieces that extend out from the jet shaped stone guard. Both sides are needed. Thanks

Re: Ordered in April

Had the same thing happen with a set of ‘40 rear brake shoes. Ended up just keeping them. I’ll need another set at some point anyway.

Re: Hard to move (sell) heavy items

No '40-'46 rear drums? I would make a road trip for those.

Re: 37 Replacement seats

I watched several videos on youtube. Got some good tips like use vinyl instead of burlap between the frame and foam. Use a cheap electric turkey carver knife to cut the foam (got mine for $2 at a...

Re: 37 Replacement seats

The factory seats can be rebuilt using modern foam and materials as long as the seat frame is not in too bad of shape. It is pretty amazing how comfortable and supportive they can be with the modern...

Re: Your input/thoughts appreciated

I had a similar problem last week. My '53 was making a rattling sound when running I could here under the hood towards the belt drive. Thought maybe the the water pump was on it's way out. Finally...

Re: In defense of 6 cylinders

I also have a '53 with a 215. Even though I have an 8BA in storage I honestly have no desire to swap it out. Don't get me wrong, I love the flathead in my '40. But the old 215 runs great and requires...

Re: The fun begins

My first car was a 1962 Skylark. Two door hardtop with the 215 V8. I believe the Buick had self-adjusters. You'll have to keep these adjusted.

Re: Dawsonville Moonshine Festival

The ‘39 and ‘40s (Moonshine cars) got covered parking this year. I thought that was pretty cool. My daughter took some pics. I’ll post them up when I get a chance.

Found a couple parts at the...

I recommend the Georgia Apple Pie Moonshine from the Dawsonville Distillery. That one is my favorite:D

Re: Dawsonville Moonshine Festival

50% chance of rain on Saturday and 40% on Sunday in Dawsonville. That stinks.

I'll be there, but not planning to bring my '40 this year. Ran out of time to get it ready.

Re: Dawsonville Moonshine Festival

I hope to make it with my '40. But it seems every time I fix something another thing breaks... But even if my '40 does not make it I will be there.

Re: Locked up!

I've had several occasions here in the high humidity summer where a couple weeks passed without me driving my '53 and the rear shoes stick to the drum. Only happens when I leave the parking brake on...

Re: MOONSHINE Festival

Great news! Friend of mine just asked me a couple days ago if I had heard if it was happening this year or not.

Maybe my '40 will finally make it this year.

Re: Cleaning an early aluminum intake

I believe I cleaned the one I have with oven cleaner and a small soft wire bristle brush. Worked pretty well. Just took a lot of elbow grease.

Wow, your '40 looks a lot like mine. I'm running black stock 16 inch wheels with standard caps and wide whites.

Re: New Poll, What Year Fords Do We Own?

Update. Traded the '63 f100 for a 1953 Customline Tudor Sedan. Not a shoebox technically, but I really like it so far.

Re: Where does your 53 Ford run?

That's about where my '53 sits fully warmed up.

But yeah, one of those cheap IR temp guns will give you piece of mind. That's how I figured out the gauge on my '40 was about 15 degrees off.
