I don't blame ya. The first thing I'd do is pull the oil filler tube, and take a super bright flashlight and shine it down that hole to verify the tray position.

I just bought a half find can of blue that looked like it matched the crest in my radiator shroud fairly well. In 30 years no one has ever commented on it being wrong on my bumper clamp.
