Posting this for my dad...I'm an MG guy so, bare with me.

He just picked up a '36 Cabriolet and would like to put in, I believe he said, a Columbia rear end.

Pretty obvious that it's missing parts, yes. What I'm asking is if it indeed is a '51. This is measured from the front. Are parts still available to make this complete?

Still looking for a nice, counterbalanced Model B engine. Would prefer something near south central PA...or at least a day's drive to and from south central PA.

Thanks. This mechanic knows what he is doing on Model As. My dad had a few spare transmissions and asked him to replace...he was also upgrading to an overdrive. The rebuilt motor came from a place...

Thanks guys. I've been fwd.ing him a lot of the posts on engine vibration. Wow, tons of posts! He did replace the motor mounts with the float a mount (?) type and the vibration is still there. ...

Thank you. I think the timing is okay. It was idling beautifully with the spark lever all the way up. I don't know if it would help with a recording or not. I will try to do that.

UPDATE and follow-up question -

I rode in this Model A today and I don't think it's metal to metal grinding at all. To me, it's more like a heavy vibration. You can feel it in the steering...

Thanks. He typically hears it only with certain RPMs but it is typically always under load. I don't know if that helps out or not.

He had disconnected the speedo and ran it that way and it...
