I have just done the same mod on my spare 33 shaft and rear end, I have the 46 3.78 R&P that I machined to fit into the 33 /34 housing, and bore the 10 spline end of the d/shaft to fit a 6 spline...

It looks like a beefier model A one.
I wonder what the thinking was behind it, maybe to eliminate the coupling, for what reason?

Brian , I got Garth to cast me up some heads, but solid with no chambers or water jackets,I machined the chambers myself.

Brian the heads that went the best on our dragster were cast iron truck heads but we have a 4-71 to help with the flow

I have had the 34 for about 20 or more years,
Re the clutch,I had buggered up the clutch plate a while back when I changed out the tired engine and replaced it with my best original 33...

Last year we went down the valley for a week away in the 33 and caravan, as usual we passed an old farm with two large silos on it, we have been going down the valley since around 82 in our old cars...

I Live in Central Queensland,there is no JD dealer in town but in Biloela a 100 or Kays away there is and its an easy job. to order a carton from there and get it delivered.

I know from doing lots of miles in our 33 that the vac brake needs to function if you want to have the optimal timing at light load cruise and also full throttle up a hill.even with 91 oct fuel.

the piston has no seal on it ,and the little leather part only contacts the advance disc. so the seal for the vacuum is only the fit of the piston to the housing,

I see the ford specs are for a clearance of less than .001,
I see on my 33 there is way more than that ,more like...
