I have used a 1980 in my Tbird (behind a YBlock). Flat-O kit. In my 48 Ford...

Re: Exhaust manifold question?

If it's a standard shift car, you need a 55 or 56 Z bar - the cross piece that connects the frame mount to the engine mount.

In an automatic car, you may find that the neutral safety switch is...

Re: Tuning issue - updated

I just adjusted the distributor in my 56 Bird (57 distributor). Just used a long extension, short 1/2 socket and appropriate ratchet, all 3/8 drive.

I changed my 54 from a Fordo to a stick and hanging that third pedal was no big deal.

Re: adding front springs finally-check me

If you are going to raise the lower A arm with a floor jack, I recommend you get a heavy chain and before pushing the spring up wrap the chain around the frame and a coil or two as insurance. This...

Re: Disc Brakes V Bendix Brakes-Which performs best??

Re: Disc Brakes V Bendix Brakes-Which performs best??

You don't need a booster even if you go to disc brakes. I replaced the front brakes in my 54 Ford with 80 Granada discs without power booster and the brakes work fine. I doubt a 48 pickup is any...
