Make sure your machinist knows the correct clearance for Model A kingpins. I assumed my machinist knew, and he got it wrong. And he is one of the most respected and experienced machinists in Portland!

Bumpers can be replated, but if you can remove the paint the plating might still be good, if so, yes, you could just polish them

Alternate the tightening sequence, every other one. Increase pressue eachbtime around. Tighten till they’re tight, and afterwards check often. In 60 years of driving my A’s i’ve never used a torque...

A little hard to tell from the photo, but it doesn’t look right. The purpose of the spring to to pull the pedal back to its proper position. It has to attach to the pedal in a manner that does that.

Have you sat in a pickup? Are you looking at a 28-29 or a 30-31? Neither has much room, but the earlier models are the closest. You might be able to get closer by simply adding a pillow between you...
