Crankshaft pulley, what is this part?

I pulled the timing cover and crankshaft pulley off my 8BA to replace the front crankshaft seal, and this part fell off. I have no idea where it came from. It looks like a spacer. It fits over the...

Re: oil height

I’m swapping a center sump for a rear sump pan on an 8BA for clearance purposes. I measured 5.25” from the top of the oil pan to the full mark on the dipstick. Is that 1/4” worth worrying about?

Re: Winfield Cams

I've got a 284ci 8BA with a Winfield 1A repo cam, offy heads and dual intake with two Holley 94's. It's not very happy on the low end. The original owner put 3.00 gears in the rear with an S10 T5...

Re: 1941 Ford Pickup Radio?

:D

I've got a really nice Marshall BT speaker, but I'm worried it will "disappear" when the truck is parked.

Re: 1941 Ford Pickup Radio?

Thanks for the info.

No insult taken.

The dashboard in my truck has the ford emblem in the middle. However, behind that emblem is a hole in the shape of a car radio. I guess Ford had the...

Re: 1941 Ford Pickup Radio?

Great find. Since this isn't a Ford radio, I'll have to look for other aftermarket radios that were available at the time.

I've got a 1941 1/2 ton pickup and I've been looking for a radio that would look like it belongs in the truck. Until the other day, I found a picture of the dashboard in a 1941 Ford Pickup that had...

Re: 53 8ba oil filter question

I know this sounds like a stupid question, but did you put the oil in the engine? I only ask because the oil I use in my engine is green and looks just like coolant. When I went to look at the...

Re: 1941 Parking Brake Question(?)

I stopped by Ace hardware on the way home (I love that place) and found a couple springs I could modify and use for the lever in the parking brake. The first pic below is one of the springs I bought...

Re: 1941 Parking Brake Question(?)

Thanks for the attempt at getting a pic. Getting under these dashboards can be an exercise in flexibility sometimes.

They sent the wrong spring, so I'm going to Home Depot tonight to try and find...

Re: 1941 Parking Brake Question(?)

I noticed that in your pic and was wondering if that was the long leg of the spring. Thanks for the info.

I removed the lever that rides on the teeth from the parking brake last night. I then...

Re: 1942 Ford deluxe coupe project

Those are tail lights from a 49 thru 51 Lincoln Cosmopolitan.

The 42' looks great. Nice to see such a rare car coming back to life.

Re: 1941 Parking Brake Question(?)

Cadillac, thanks for the pic. That looks like the same spring that I posted above and your pic helps with the orientation of where the spring sits.

Would you happen to have a pic of where the...
