Re: light rod stuck in shaft

Not sure what the actual size of a steel dowel is, I think the shaft hole dia. is
.370", but a dowel might be about the same size. If you make sure there are no burrs and use a good penetrating oil...

Re: light rod stuck in shaft

Re: Need .874 reamer

I'm with Rod. A brake hone is absolutely the best way to go for the small amount you are removing. Why buy an expensive reamer?

Re: Pure crap!!!!!!!!!

If the reproduction parts you buy are crap, send them back for a refund or credit. If everyone does this without hesitation, eventually the vendors will have to find someone in the industry that will...

Re: What Model A part was the hardest to take apart?

Is it a good/bad idea to use heat to get the spring perches off?

Re: Front Motor Mounts

That large hole is for a special brass bushing. Look it up online with one of the parts suppliers.

Re: 1930 Front Bumpers.

Definitely use a cheap shop press for straightening because you can compensate
for any springback.

Re: scam: true/false?

It's fun just keeping these scammers on the hook for a while. It's kept me amused
a lot of times.

Re: Rumble seat conversion???

Really only good for parades. You don't want people in a rumble while on the highway.
You're probably safer in a pepsi can.

Re: New Guy - Tie Rod Installation

I know what your problem is, it's getting it squeezed onto the ball after
you've inserted the spring and cup. I used a rivet and the threaded cap to
compress the spring just a little until I had...

Re: Tight engine problem

Could it need a line bore? If all bearings are not aligned it could be binding. If this
is the case it will run hot.

Re: install upper steering wheel bushing

There's a good procedure in the Les Andrews book. My steering
box was broken in the area where the control arm rods come
through which is a typical spot for fatique. Since I had to weld it
anyway,...

Re: Tap Size For Zerks

Just use a small socket that fits the zerk collar and tap them in.

Re: Painting inside of wheel wells

There is a product called POR-15. You spray it over rust (not dirt and oil).
The more grit the surface has, the better it sticks. It's not too
expensive and it's tough as glass.

Re: How to set reamer for Clutch/pedal busingings
