Wow, this has been a great thread to read through. Really great progress and looks like a great car. I can say after getting our A (My wife's grandfathers car) about 5 years ago, there are times...

Re: problem with laycock

I don't know anything about these and so this is probably not the problem, but the only other thought I had was whether they wired it correctly. If it was active when not on, maybe they grounded the...

So Steve Plucker's PDF has a lot of good information and also has contact information for Dave Sturges who probably has the most information.

Re: Searching for body codes

After I posted that I got to wondering if they carried over from year to year or within a year. Seems unlikely they cranked out over 3000 Tudor bodies in two months in Denver. Hmmmm. May need to do...

Re: Searching for body codes

Assuming it was the same system as every other plant, the number is the number of the body built at that plant. So that was the 3061st Tudor built in that plant

Re: rumble seat conversion, 29 coupe

We converted our trunk to a rumble on my wife's grandfather's 29 coupe (now in our possession) for our wedding 25 years ago. It made some great memories. My wife and I fit back there and she was in...

Re: Windshield frame removal

Tried this on mine and could not in any way budge those screws. Ended up sliding frame out of the hinge. I am wondering if the screws were painted in place. Thoughts on getting these out?

Re: Recommendations Installing Top Wire On Welting

Got it. Thanks for the clarification. Obviously, pulling the tacks risks damage and you can only do a couple at a time to avoid losing tension on the top. I guess pre-drilling holes would be the...

Re: Evaporust for gas tank cleaning

I actually did this with my gas tank four years ago. Our 29 Std Coupe had sat in my Mother-in-Laws garage for 20 years and it was rusted top to bottom. I did cycle it through three times letting it...

Re: Recommendations Installing Top Wire On Welting

I am a little confused. So you are installing a new top? The black roof material you are talking about is the long grain vinyl? That had to be tacked on. How did you attach it?

Re: Brake shoe centering instructions

Besides backing off on the adjuster - I assume all the way off so it was providing not force, did they adjust anything? This brake centering thing has always been a question for me also.
