doubtful its the head as i ran a 7-1 for years with no trouble . my guess is the timing gears are not correct ..........

i have shaved door kit in my drivers door . tired of only getting in on passenger side .
but i did leave the passenger door stock , in case of a problem with electric opener . also installed...

a friend has the same compression difference . had head surfaced , no change , reset valves , no difference . it runs fine , so he quit trying to find the problem . strange yes , but not a killer

i was told that a 12v coil is ok on 6v , but on 12v it needs the resistor ..
FSI ignition on mine . 12v with resistor

ok , just learned what the problem is . the rebuilder put the WRONG valves in . could not say how he adjusted them on the build . never offered to fix it . but at least we know now . operator error...

it has lifters that are adjustable . lifters have flat sides for a wrench & the tappets are interference fit with nut for wrench on top . the problem is they do not come out of block enough to get a...
