Re: 33 ignition switch
I can only speak for the big trucks. My 34 BB has the plate but my 40 and 47 do not. I have had all three apart. I was surprised to find it in the 34 and it fell out on the floorboard when I took...

Re: Cab Doors
They both are the same shape and fit interchangeably. There are very minor differences on the inside. The access cover on the 40 is held by 5 screws while the covers on the 41 - 47s are held by on 8...

Re: What is this truck?
Did the wing windows come on this truck or are they an aftermarket add, or another Australia feature?

Re: Steering box bottom tube seal?
Several years ago I needed this tube for my 34 BB truck, so I called the Early Ford Store in San Dimas, CA. IIRC Michael crossed referenced the part number with a model A part number (I don't know...

Re: A forgotten in plain site 1936 Model 51
My grandfather had several Ford dumps that I drove in the summers. I still have one of them. They all worked the same way. One of the levers engaged the PTO to drive the hydraulic pump and the other...

Re: LED taillites
I had a similar problem on my 34 BB several years ago. When I activated the battery switch I could see a slight jump on the ammeter and the tail lights went on very dim. The problem turned out to...

Re: Marvel Classic Motor Oil
Add me to the list of believers. It freed up valves in three of my engines. (Two Ford flathead V-8s and a Case tractor).

Re: oil change
When I was getting my 8BA running, I cranked it by hand, with the spark plugs out, until oil came out of the top boss hole. Very little mess was made that way.

Re: '36 Pickup electrical issue
I too had that plate fall out in my 34 switch before I came up with the tape trick. From memory, I think it can only go back in one way for the switch to work and with a little fiddling I figured it...

Re: '36 Pickup electrical issue
One thing I do in removing the switch unit, which helps a fumble fingers like me, is to wrap a thin piece of electrical tape around the joint before I remove the screws. This allows me to keep it all...

Re: 1934 Ford Pickup firing order
The second diagram in post #2 is showing a 37-41 distributor. For the 32-36 distributor as requested by the original poster, the firing order is the same but the inner caps are rotated 90 degrees...

Re: Oil Filter Info. Needed
In the recent restoration of my 59A engine, I only found one outlet hole in the center pipe and no restrictor fittings in either end of the inlet line. I figured that the one hole was acting as the...

Re: V-J Day August 15, 1945
In all fairness to 19Fordy he started out the title of the thread with August 15, 1945 and in post #2 it got changed to April 15. It got changed back to August in post 22. How does this happen?

Re: 47 Truck Door Question
Could it have been tied to possibly military requirements in WWII? That was surely harder use than civilian use is. Maybe it took until 1947 for Ford to run out of stock.

47 Truck Door Question
Just curious - Does anyone know why Ford put a metal channel around the truck door windows from 1942 - 1947? It seems contrary to their continual efforts to eliminate unnecessary items to reduce...

Truck Doors
I suspect that the Ford truck doors from 1938 through 1947 are interchangeable. I mean hinges to hinges, dovetails, latches, widows, cab match-up, etc. I know about the subtle difference in the 38...

Re: Floor shift in 53 f-100
