Thanks everyone, kube I did try pumping when hot with no improvement. Got my carb riser today so I will report back.

I'm not sure if this will help. my 34 grill had some vertical bars that were bent bad. I had a spare seat frame and used some pieces from it to braize into the grill, they were a perfect fit. Ken

Just an update, I tried a smaller pulley and although I do see an improvement the amps still drop when the fan kicks in. I think I may bite the bullet and purchase a high output alternator. Ken
