I agree with the Toms. I often hear "whadja' hafta' give for that? Here in northern New England, I know etiquette varies around the country, but we don't seem to get hung up on prices up hea'.

That is very true. These are teaching moments. No one likes to be made fun of. Correct them, smile, thank them for their interest or compliment, and let them walk away thinking, what a nice guy...

Yup, I agree. Reply back with basic facts, give them good information. At best you might foster some interest in someone, especially a youngun. At worst, you wont be the remembered as the person...
