I had to cut a little bit off of the spring. I think it was one coil of the spring. After that it went together fine and I've not had any problems with it .

A battery disconnect switch is money well spent. Put it in the cab under your feet for quick access. I just bought one from Bratton's and it was about $25

I had the same thing happen recently. My problem was the cut-out was faulty. You might try to use a jumper wire to by-pass the cut-out and then start the car to see if it's charging.

I always use a Battery Tender for storage. I found my 6V battery to be dead. Had it tested at the parts store and it showed bad. (4 years old) Put in new battery and drove it. I noticed the ammeter...
