I had to cut a little bit off of the spring. I think it was one coil of the spring. After that it went together fine and I've not had any problems with it .

A battery disconnect switch is money well spent. Put it in the cab under your feet for quick access. I just bought one from Bratton's and it was about $25

I had the same thing happen recently. My problem was the cut-out was faulty. You might try to use a jumper wire to by-pass the cut-out and then start the car to see if it's charging.

I've tried everything and nothing works like Harley Davidson white wall cleaner. It will make them snow white with very little effort. Dad's white walls had turn brown and it made them snow white....
