The AA brakes are easy to adjust so you dont have excessive travel . I have had 1 1/2 tons of gravel on the back of my 31 AA and the brakes were adequate but you do take care and think ahead .

The problem you have is that the damaged area is stretched and no matter how hard you push and pull it you will never win . You can shrink panels by heating/ quenching but I think by the sounds of it...

Measure the shaft diameter the later starter is 5/8" if yours is this you are good to go for parts . If you have the 1/2" shaft you unfortunately will have difficulty finding parts as they are not...

I have solved this problem by fitting the fenders, light bar and braces "loose" then you have wiggle room for fitting .Once everything is loosely connected it will all pull together when you bolt it...
