If I remember correctly, I used the bottom section of a 14 ounce propane bottle,
empty and gas cleared of course. Not 100% correct, but serves the purpose!

Do a Google search for "Big Flats Rivet" in Big Flats, New York. They specialize in rivets for old cars. I used them on my '40 frame , looks original. They also have tools and instructions for use....

I don't know about other years, but on my forty, the 1/4" square shaft on the handle was worn off on the corners where it entered the square hole in the inner mechanism. I built up the worn spots...

y block & parts

292" out of early '60's pick up,cast iron automatic bell housing, torque converter, complete, will not turn over. I also have another complete 292" engine except block. located in north central OK....

Not to hijack this thread, but when my wife bought her new 2015 Honda Crosstour , the window sticker said, 70% parts from North America, assembled in Ohio, engine made in USA. Other 30% parts??

I'm also working on my "basket case" '40 Ford. Just went thru installing parking brake lever. No picture, I will try to explain. The top attaches to a vertical flange/tab at the windshield surround....
