Change of Plans

I have a all original 1941 drivetrain, shocks, wishbones, rear end, front end , new brakes, installed couple years back.minus trans/engine. Available late fall 2023, come take a ride as it sits.

i had the black soot up on start up also. I went to 1 step hotter plug and have not noticed it anymore. I was running Autolite 216 and swapped to a NGK B-4L (i believe is a hotter plug) and much less...

Thanks to all that have helped out. The trip is over, I'm calling it done. (Wife says when the spare tire is on)

Thank you, took way longer than expected, with quite a few hiccups along the way. A learning experience I will remember for sometime.

20psi cold cranking, did not deem necessary to fire on ground, lets get it in the truck.

Finally engine assembly can begin. I have 4 different books to go by and all had something to help. Major one was Ol Rons floater bearings book and Mike's assembly book.

So what I found was a couple things. 2 quarter sized holes in the 2 rear cylinders, motor had already been punched out to 3.1875, 0.020 over.
Crank had rod journals turned over .030, and main...

On to the next step,

Let's rebuild a motor. The fact I got to drive the truck the season was a bonus. I had a low end rod knock over 45mph. So kept it close by and waited to winter to rebuild.

About the motor let's just say I'm 6 months into it and it's still not done. Should have solid update when up and running in a month or so.
