we have a shop here that specalise in repairing cracks in cyinderheads (tractor- semis desiel) last time I heard they would not touch a flathead-- best to find a good block here in Iowa you can find...

on new lifters i adjust one then do each one to that length holding them in a vice with soft jaws this way you dont need to turn them as much in block for final adjustment

You can modify a stock filter can by cutting off can and mount a spinon filter adaptor then you can mount it on head like original i used a polished filter cover you can buy from speedwaymotors

I took mine to a machine shop- we hot tanked them- then put them in bead blast cabinet $15 ea- I painted them buy rolling on a 8ft table.

i built the motor before i knew about L- 100- i bought 3 cams from Cam Tech sold 2 one is in AV-8 in Clear Lake, Iowa!!! I may change cams in the future- need to get my A V8 on the road this spring...
