I think our long distance trips towing a camper would qualify for "major touring". For those trips, I now use 16" wheels and radial tyres for light trucks. That way, I get the mileage and weight...

Thanks for that, Mr Cylinder! The choice of tyres here is very limited and not getting any better. I guess retailers can only justify carrying a limited range when there is a notion that tyres should...
