Re: Interchange? for 1957 3 speed>to full synchromesh?

You may find that the front bearing retainer is a little bit too large to fit in the bellhousing. it can be trimmed to fit. I had to do this to a top loader four speed.

Re: Battery Comment - Not What You Think!

Never used two wrenches in loosening or tightening the cables to the battery. never had a problem either. They certainly do not need to be that tight

Re: radial tires on a 55 car wheel (orig)

On my 56 Bird, I ran radials on what I am sure were stock wheels and full hubcaps. never had a hubcap come loose. two trips coast to coast and a lot in between

Re: Pod on Dash, R&I in place?

Ron Francis Wiring is another "premium" harness maker. They have harnesses for fuel Injection, if that is what you have

Re: Pod on Dash, R&I in place?

I would take a serious look at the original wires to see how good they may be. may be time for a new wiring harness..

When I got my 54, the wires were a mess (already had a 12 volt conversion). ...

Re: 1957 FORD t-bird cast valve covers

Same gaskets fit metal and cast. The only difference you may run into is that the gaskets for late steel covers had tabs on them. Just cut off.

Re: Pod on Dash, R&I in place?

I'm not sure I understand your question??? Did you get the dash thing?

It's possible there might not be clips - that the pod is screwed directly to the dash metal.

Re: 312 Y Block valve cover studs

I used this method for the seals of the valley cover because I have heard they were too thick and the intake hit the bolts.

I cut the rubber piece in half so it was thinner.

Re: Pod on Dash, R&I in place?

It will come out. There are clips and studs that hold it to the main dash. You just have to be agile to get under the dash. If you plan to do a fair amount of work under the dash, better to remove...

Re: Y-BLOCK valve covers Fenton

Don't know of any other gaskets that will solve your problem. Sounds like the cover was not properly made to accept the stock gaskets.

I have a bunch of Y block valve cover gaskets from...

Re: Door fits on 55,56 and 57 T-Birds ??????

If the door sticks out evenly at the rear, the problem is the latch. Also could be that the weatherstripping is too thick.

Do you have to lift up on the doors to close? If so, the hinges are...

It's too late now, but the bigger, Ford size bullet is available from the suppliers. I got mine from CASCO, the Tbird parts place. I assume others have them.

Re: 1953-55 NEW 12 V wiper motor set-up

Is this a kit you bought or just a wiper motor that you installed?

If a kit, get back to the manufacturer/seller.

Be sure you got the arms on the correct sides.
