Re: 39 No fire at the plugs
There is a resistor under the dash. Have you bypassed it? If not, you will not get any spark. Never mind, I forgot you are running right off the battery.

Re: 39 No fire at the plugs
It should be wired just like I said in post 6. As I said, I have this exact same distributor on my engine for 25 years so I think that qualifies me as knowing how it should be done. Period.

Re: 39 No fire at the plugs
You sent that distributor to me and it worked perfectly here. I have had the exact same distributor on my 39 for 25 years

Re: High hp flathead build posted 20 hrs ago
I also agree on the horsepower numbers, but at least they didn't have any of that 200 hp BS. Good job of pointing out those useless little air filters. Also curious that they didn't drill the lifter...

Re: Crankshaft seal 59ab
I use the one piece seal exclusively. Either one will work just fine. I don't have a preference.

Re: Second Thoughts on Valve Lash?
I'm of the belief that the cam dictates the valve lash. I think Ford went to the EA camshaft when the rotators were introduced. I set most of my cams at .012 intake and .014 exhaust.

Re: ported vacuum
The ported spark on a 4 barrel does not replicate the venturi vacuum signal on a 94.

Re: 8RT truck oil pan question
You can not access the tube through the cleanout, only the screen. You could try draining the oil, remove the cleanout and have someone crank the engine while you feel the screen. If the crank is...
