Re: Bumper bender

Sad. Sitting there, next to a busy road for 40 years. Me thinks this is likely one of those, "NOT FOR SALE!!!! I'm a gonna' fix 'er up someday" cars.
Otta be a law.

Re: 1931 Model A not turning over

If you don't have the tools to test the battery yourself, just remove it, (take a photo of how it was installed first) and take it down to an auto parts store and have it tested there. They don't...

Re: Dust bowl AA

Wonder if they had to declare any fruit at the border when entering California? Maybe just "the grapes of wrath". No seat belts or child restraints, just grit and hope keeping them aboard. Good luck...

Re: Lacquer Paint fix?

Never used this stuff on a car but it will soften lacquer. When working with it, it seems to "melt" the finish and make it young again. It sure works great on pianos etc.

Re: Texas Hwy Patrol Officer Bulldogging a car

Re: Odd Frame Repair?

Good attitude! I would remove the U-bolts, grind the welds a bit to smooth it out, treat and paint to prevent rust and go with it. The engine completely hides that area anyway.

Re: 33/34 inner door handles

there were some listed here, in the swap meet section, just a day or two ago. Seemed very expensive but they were nice original.

Re: High RPM problem, thoughts?

Go to the "search" option at the top of this page and type in, dual carb setup. Lots of good info. Especially relating to the linkage aspect of the system.
Good luck

Happy Mother's Day

Sure wish I could ring her up and talk for a while. She was the best.
Raised four kids and had a full time job. She would sneak food off of her plate on to ours when there wasn't quite enough.
Love...

Re: High RPM problem, thoughts?

Regardless, having a spare carb is a good idea. You made the right decision to get a new one. Now you can take your time to explore and find a fix for the bad one.
Good luck,
Phil

Re: starting problem???

Maybe you should just leave the electric pump on all the time. Your mechanical pump may be toast

Re: Columbia two speed differentials

The hype around the need to "Bulletin proof" these Columbias is way over blown. This is not a cost-effective insurance plan. Reminds of the "Car Sheild" crap". Just get a good, used, (No Cracks!)...

Re: (Best) copper head gasket and offenhauser aluminum heads

Sort of still on topic..... If I use a copper gasket on a stock engine with stock iron heads, do I need to apply gear grease to both sides of gasket? Does this then make removal pf heads easier,...

The 3 W looks much better with suicide doors. The hinges are then in a much better place.

Re: Skip Haney

Skip uses only the best materials. Cuts no corners. He has become, by years of practice, the "King of Coils".
