Re: Wanted: AER .100 over piston rings

If anyone finds themselves in this situation, I found that Chev 283 pistons are the same diameter and ring land width as AER pistons. They are available in stock and oversizes up to 0.100 from Egge....

I am in need of a set of 0.100” over piston rings for a set of Antique Engine Rebuilders pistons. The top two rings are 5/64, and the oil ring is 3/16. If you can help me out, please let me know....

I am in the process of buying parts for an engine build. I have been unable to locate a new cam. I would like to find a .330 or .340 lift Stipe, but they are not expecting to get new stock until...

Re: State of things: 21" radials

I have been running 19” Stahl Sport Radials for two years now and am very happy with them. I mounted them with Hartford tubes. The Hartford tubes are the thickest, heaviest tubes I have ever used. I...

Re: rebuild speedometer

I just got my round speedometer back from papanick. He did a beautiful job on it. It looks like new. It was a very fast turn around, too.

Re: Engine RPMs

I shift 1st to 2nd at 10 mph. 2nd to 3rd at 20 mph. 3rd to Mitchell OD (26%) at 40 mph. I think there are those that believe an engine is only good for so many revolutions, so they may try to...

Re: Can't get engine started after changing timing gear

I would pull the #1 spark plug and look in to double check that the valves are opening and closing at the right time in the stroke. I installed a new timing gear in a Model T engine once and could...

Re: Fs ignitions

I run an FS ignition and really like it. When i called to order it, they asked a lot of questions about my engine to make sure I got the right advance set up. They even sent along another set of...

Re: O/T What material would you use for new axle shafts?

I agree with Mr. Neilson. The air hardening tool steels would be brittle. I would use 4140 as machined. It will work harden some in use and should hold up well in the splines, and less likely to...

Re: Stamped Brake Drum Picture?

I have noticed that the original steel drums do not have the large chamfer around the lug bolt holes. The new cast drums have that chamfer as pictured in Joe K's post above. I think that chamfer...

Spare Tire Cover

I recently put 550R19 tires on my 31 Tudor. Now my spare tire cover won't fit because of the larger tires. I would like to know if anyone has tried the 20" cover Snyders sells, or if I need to go...

I have a 1931 Tudor that needs tires. I have been looking at the Excelsior 19” radials that Coker sells. Is anyone here running them, and if so, what advice do you have? I have no experience with...
