There is a first and second generation light switch and they will not interchange. You might have 1/2 of one and 1/2 of the other.

I only know of sparton name plates. Bratton's list the following #19830 for 28-39 and #19840 for 30-31 both priced at $ 2.05. Snyder's list only one for 28-31 # A-13802 $ 1.00.

If #1 is finishing compression cycle and the intake valve is not completely closing and #2 is in it's intake cycle with the intake valve open you could have this condition. You might try your test...

The head bolt pattern also tells us it's a 24 stud 239cu version of the flathead used in mercury's starting 1939 and Ford's starting 1946 vs the earlier 21 stud 221 v8.

If I'm not mistaken the 28/29 ccpu like yours and the AA truck are the same door as a 26/27 model t coupe door. I believe I've read this more than once.

It's the same 6cp bulb as tail light bulb. Cover removed counter clockwise then it pulls out if 28 29 early 30 type.

Thanks for the heads up, but yes I am aware of that. Although it's a 29 ccpu the engine date is January 32. Also has late 31 transmission.

Replacing both. Lucky me a guy I've been lucky enough to meet that lives a little more than a mile from me that deals in used model a parts has both parts I need. I'll be picking them tomorrow.
