Re: Brake drums

I don’t think the Speedway drums will work. The amount of flange outside the studs is less than Ford used. Stock Ford wheels will not have outside support.Compare the flange on the drum to the flange...

Re: Transmission 2nd Gear Condition Question

You are showing the synchroniza and not the second gear. I think I have a good one if you need it. Post more pics.

Re: 1935 v8 engine, can a 1939/48 cam be used in it?

It will fit and work but not exactly as new. Ford changed the valve angle. The later engines had the valves further from the cylinders. A later cam will have half the valves opening sooner and half...

Re: 1934 horn (help )

Your links don’t work. I have added a contact ring to a 40 column to use the 40 button. The 32-39 wheels would require an insulated sleeve with a contact ring on the shaft plus the plunger.

Re: How to remove steering wheel? (1938)

I have been completely happy for 30 years using a Harbour Fright bearing separator. They are a couple pieces of steel that bolt together with a bevel in the middle where they separate. I put a rag on...

Re: Pitman arm question

I think the best side steer box is the 47 59 Chevy pick up boxes. They are recirculating ball design and steer as well as can be done. They are much much better than the Hudson/F100 boxes.

Re: Pitman arm question

I modified an F100 box for my 32. I did not like that the big pitman arm interfered with the stock location bolts. I machined the sector for a Model A pitman arm. It was too long and had the ball...

Re: Steering box bottom tube seal?

I did a 2 hole and a 4 hole. They are slid on a 32 horn rod and also in a 32 steering shaft. All move freely. The steering shaft was drilled out 1/64" for a couple of inches. I show the jig for...

Re: 12 V conversion

Your 6V gen will charge 12V with no problems. An alternator requires much higher rotation speed which is really not good for the gen mounted fan. More noise and possibility of flying apart. You don’t...
