I’d try changing the oil in the transmission. That also gives you a look at the old oil . If synchronizes are worn you should see it in the oil.

Ok guys, now I can’t remember the correct orientation of the bolt ,spring, washer and nut that holds the Y brace to the front crossmember. I thought I remembered the bolt dropping down from the top...

I’d say no more than $25K. If and when something goes south on the V12 you’ll be in it way over $30K , nothing is cheap or reasonable for that V12. Just to replace the vulcanized engine, transmission...

The person I know is not affiliated with Metro . I do know he has the moulds for the 39 Mercury and maybe Lincoln Zephyr. I asked him about the moulds for the 40 Ford but he doesn’t have them.

Did you remove the chrome cap on the end shown in picture #6 ? I disassembled that one without removing the on/off plate.
