Re: Cleaning Silvered Plated Lamp Reflectors
I believe a lot of the tarnishing comes from incorrect gaskets on the headlamp. The cork gasket should make it very hard to snap that ring in. It almost makes it like an air tight seal. If done...

Re: Possible Scam
I have gotten similar messages to that on here recently and also on the Tri Five forum. I thought it was a scam too. Always be skeptical of the guy who just joined.

Re: New Manufactured Zenith 1 Carb
There have been many threads on them, and I have come to the conclusion that they are hit or miss. Instead of a new one you can get a rebuilt one cheaper. I don't see any reason to buy a new one as...

Re: Ever have a distributor rotor wear out?
Never heard of that. I would think that the rotor is supposed to be tight enough for little movement. A loose rotor out of the box is the only way for that to happen I believe.

Re: Tighten the 21" rims straight
The problem with a lot of Model A wheels is they are junk. People had a tendency to hit curbs and other things with them back then, bending spokes, the rim, and the hub. I have wxperimented with...

Re: Model A Distributor with Centrifugal Advance
Not that I am aware of. Most distributors since the 50s and probably before have a gear on the bottom end of the shaft in the place a shaft retainer would be on the Model A. Also a lot of these...

Re: Throw out bearing spring replacement
To replace the pedal shaft you will have to have the trans out of the car. You have to have access to the inside as the pin will probably have to have heat put to it and it might need to be driven...

Re: Windsheild wipers
No. Some cars depending on the body style and years had either a hand wiper, a vacuum, or an electric wiper.

Re: Distributor lower shaft removal
Older reproductions were sometimes a poor fit, too tight or too loose. It could also be that the shafts are rusted together. Have you tried grabbing it with something? Could try a magnet as well.

Re: Timken front wheel bearings good source
Well people can be a bit misleading or simply they do not know the difference betweem "New old stock" and "new old replacement stock." I could be wrong but I do believe that Timken has made these...

Re: Paint prep
The only right way to do it is use some kind of solvent, preferably enamel reducer. Then you tack it off with a tack cloth. That is the way I was taught and I have never had any problems.

Re: Rear Wheel Bearings
Not really the answer you are looking for but very few buy the repros as the originals are almost always okay as long as they have grease on them. If they are not, it is easy to find another pair.
