Re: Hagerty insurance ?
Have had Hagerty for over 15 years. You set the value of your car. Reasonable rates that didn't go up after two claims, one pretty substantial: wind storm and big oak tree fell on '78 Bronco, total...

Re: 1936 speedo to 5 speed tranny
Does your tranny have mechanical speedo drive or electric. In my '36, it was just getting the right length speedo cable, no mods necessary with mechanical drive.

Re: Lug nuts stuck......
When I was a wee lad and my dad was hauling milk cans with his 1957 F600 with Budd wheels, he used the wheel wrench with a six foot pipe and stood on it to get the lugs loose. The rear duals had a...

Re: Bolt remover socket
Take a cold chisel and hammer and split the nut, either from top or side. Works every time.

Re: Block cleaning and magnaflux
I had my '36 Lb machined at Auto Value in Little Falls. The guy that did it has passed away, but it's possible he trained one of the other guys in the shop. When I was there they had multiple...

Re: Stubborn Starter Drive
This won't help with the removal, but double check the bendix when you do it get it out--it probably isn't toast. A while back the bendix crapped on my neighbors '56 Lincoln (same bendix setup). He...

Re: Shoebox door gap
Probably factory "correct". We have a '55 Tbird that I redid frame off. The doors fit terrible, but after going to many car shows and talking with people that are familiar with the Baby Birds, the...

Re: 1936 lower radiator hoses installation
I have two '36's. It is very difficult to get the hoses on and off as the distance between the radiator outlet and the block outlet is very short. I have to push one end on as far as it will go...

Re: 1935-36 car windshield frame
To clarify: all the rust through mentioned is in the side channel that the drain hole is in, NOT the faces. All faces are smooth except as noted--two screw holes in one and a small dent in...

Re: 36 Can't Stop The Oil Pan Drain Plug Drip
The problem with using anything on the outside is the oil that is still in the leak--you can't get the outside area oil free so nothing will stick. It would take years of sitting with an empty oil...

Re: 36 Can't Stop The Oil Pan Drain Plug Drip
My 36 marks it's territory under the drain plug as well. In my case it isn't the plug--the bung itself leaks from the seam where it is attached to the oil pan. It is on my project list to take the...

I have found that they need to be shaken a LONG time, with theory being they have sat for a long time on a store shelf and all the pigment settles to the bottom, just like in a gallon can of paint. ...

Re: 1936 Ford Roadster - Grant Fleming, Canada

Re: LB block repairable (or can it be)?????
I know it would take a lot of money to repair--question is, does the fact it's an LB block justify it?????
I had to sleeve all eight holes of the block I have in my '36 coupe, and that didn't...
