Re: 46 Ford pickup door lock latch remote

Look closely at your pictures 2 & 3 you will see the "shadow" of the missing spring. You have the correct replacement part. Putting it in requires bending at least 2 of the tabs. Be careful not to...

Re: 1948 mercury belt line trim.

I would use one stud at the end of each piece and at both ends of the door. Your final choice may be determined by access from the back side so you can get to the nut. Without the studs door trims...

Re: PTO knowledge

Ports were the same for many years but gears changed from spur cut to helical cut. Sometimes a spacer was needed between the 2 cases.

Re: 1939 Deluxe inner fender aprons 1940 interchange?

I must not be making my question clear enough. I appreciate all the info so far but want to have a "correct late 1939" front clip assembly. Not worried about strength as this car will not be driven...

Re: Growling speedometer in 40 Ford

The cable will NOT come out the lower end at the turtle. it has a collar on the top end. Taking the 2 screws out at the head area will not help. If you need the speedometer head out, there are 5...

Re: Growling speedometer in 40 Ford

Try lubricating the cable. Pull it out from the top end while wiping it with a cloth to avoid getting anything dirty. After a good inspection slip it back in while passing it through a ball of...

Re: 1939 Deluxe inner fender aprons 1940 interchange?

Thanks for your input. I have 2 different versions of the 1939 aprons, both are cracked and of a weaker design than a 1940. My question is when did the stronger design 1940 first get installed on the...

1939 Deluxe inner fender aprons 1940 interchange?

I am learning about changes in the early and late style front fenders used on 1939 Deluxe. Is the inner apron commonly found in 1940 correct for a late 1939?

Re: The question of the day?

I used to tell students not to hook up a battery with reversed polarity, it will make the headlights shine backwards!

Re: 32-48 Gas Tank Question

The electric sender was only used 1936/48. 1932/35 had a smaller opening and an air pressure type sender.

Re: Radiator lower tank splash shield 1934 pickup

The "green bible" has an illustration #P109 on page 347 showing a 1934 passenger car part 16550.
The text is on page 611 and has passenger car 40-16550 and commercial truck 46-16550.
